Tuscany and the European Heritage Days 2013 | Good Things From Italy - Le Cose Buone d'Italia | Scoop.it

Forty-nine European countries will join this year’s European Heritage Days, a yearly international event to promote the European culture and heritage: two days, Saturday September 28 and Sunday September 29, entirely dedicated to art and culture, with special opening hours for museums and archeological sites, guided tours, conferences, meetings, and so much more.

Of course Italy, with all its artistic beauty, will participate in the event. And Tuscany could not hold back and many events have been planned for the occasion. Here  you can find the complete list (in Italian, sorry!).

This year the European Heritage Days include also “A night at the museum” (Saturday 28): a special night during which the main art sites will remain open beyond normal opening hours, giving us all the excitement of a night visit to precious places such as the Uffizi Gallery, the Accademia Gallery and the Medici Chapels (free entrance, from 7 to 11 pm).
