Title: We talked to teens who quit social media. I personally believe that social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook have become ingrained in the lives of all of us. With adolescents and young adults, and thanks to personal experiences young women, being the primary users of such platforms, it is an important question whether social media use has an impact on self-concept, self-esteem, body image, and body dissatisfaction. The rise of social media has granted more opportunities to meet new people and begin relationships, but it also has changed the way teens view themselves and compare each other. I think that negative posts or comments also can do great damage to a teen’s self-esteem. As a conclusion and in my personal view of social media I can say that people begin to forget that social media isn’t a necessity to live. It helps people connect with their friends and stay updated on what’s going on, but it’s not all necessary at all. Social media has forever changed teens’ lives, making them more connected and also disconnected than ever before, it’s just the latest change in technology.
