Earlier this year I published some reviews and videos about a few new mind mapping tools. As the new school year begins I think it's time that I add those new tools my list of mind mapping creation tools for students and teachers. When I was in high school we had to learn how to create bibliographies by working from a template that my history teacher, Mr. Diggs, provided to us. When I went to college, I referred to that template and an early version of The Student Writer to make bibliographies. Today, students have a wealth of online tools that can help them properly structure citations and bibliographies. I've featured a handful of them over the last couple of years. Here they are.

Today we spent sometime going through the featured resources in ReadWriteThing and picked out for you the tools below. A few weeks ago Google introduced a new feature called Art Transfer that allows you to "transform your photo in the style of an iconic artist". This new functionality is available in the Google Arts and Culture app. Using Art Transfer you will be able to create unique artistic works through a combination of your own photos with styles from well-known artists including van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, Leonardo da Vinci, Edvard Munch, to mention a few.

Starting a new school year means new students, new supplies, a newly cleaned and organized classroom—and new technology tools for students. After I spend some time getting to know my students each year, I typically take a day to add several extensions to their Google Chrome browser accounts—my students spend most of their computer time using that browser.
