This article describes an investigation carried out with university students where Language Integrated Content and Project Based Learning were mixed with the aim of discovering whether they could be succesful or not. The results showed that students achieved goals regarding to team work, communicative competences, and cooperation.
From my point of view ClIL and Project based Learning offer the teachers the possibility of teaching meaninful knowledge inasmuch as students work on themes or topics they see in their daily. It means that language is teaching with a context; thus isolated vocabulary or content is avoided.

This type of education will help to broad the prespectives in the teaching field. The content to which the students are exposed to will help them to develop the language, but also their knwoledge!. The redesign of a class keeping in consideration content and language will engage students and foster their motivation for learning. Then, it is a good way to combine teaching strategies and this new curriculum design fro creating good relationships between students and teachers. I consider that it is necessary a combination of good material, strategies and a good teacher behavior to improve the learning process of the kids.

As teachers we always need to be aware of new approaches, methodologies or techniques that come out and could benefit our class and our students' learning process. One of those is the revolutionary teaching approach CLIL, which stands for Content and Language Integrated Learning.
With CLIL you can offer your students a rich, meaningful context, in which they can learn language without needing you to explicitly teach it. Some of CLIL's underlying principles are: - Language is learned in context. -Language is learned naturally. -Language is innately tied to motivation. |
